Cinematographers can enter a short film competition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the borough's creation.

Haringey Borough Council's Haringey@50 offers debutante directors the opportunity to showcase what Haringey means to them through a five-minute documentary, drama, comedy, animation or music video.

The pick of the bunch will be screened at Wood Green Cineworld alongside a Haringey community documentary written, produced and directed by young people with support from Bernie Grant Arts Centre.

Haringey Council leader Councillor Claire Kober said: “What better way to mark our 50th anniversary than to invite residents to show on film what Haringey means to them, what they love best about the borough and what their hopes are for its future.

“There’s a huge amount of creative talent in Haringey and we’re really looking forward to seeing the borough through the eyes of those who live here today.”
