Early years careers were the order of the day when two primary schools held an employment fair.

St Paul’s and All Hallow’s Church of England infant school and St Francis de Sales Primary School teamed up to offer little ones the chance to find out more about prospective careers.

More than 150 children attended the event at St Francis de Sales School in Church Road, Tottenham, on Thursday with many inspired to pursue careers in the NHS or with the police.

Tracy, nine, who wants to be a police officer said: “This was great, I did not know how much the police did.”

Workers from the North Middlesex Hospital came along to speak to the children, many of whom were born in the hospital, and the NHS was popular with pupils.

Dr James Lane, head at St Frances de Sales said: “This was a great and the first time we have had this kind of event in London and we are keen to replicate the career fair."

Gardening and acting were also presented to the children as career choices and actress Rebecca Crookshank, who worked on Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland, attended in the hope of inspiring future thespians.
