Tottenham Hotspur have submitted plans to restore an 18th century building.

Percy House, in High Road, Tottenham, would be transformed into a new home for the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation if plans submitted to Haringey Borough Council are approved.

The move is part of the wider stadium redevelopment project and would enable the foundation to move from its current home at the former ticket office building in Park Lane.

The club says Percy House, which is recognised as being of high heritage significance and national importance, will become a hub for enterprise, training and education for people in the community.

Tottenham Hotspur Foundation chief executive Grant Cornwell said: “The dlub is widely acknowledged as the single most important heritage asset in the area, and with its support, we can ensure that this major historic building, which has a considerable link to the origins of our great dlub, can be revitalised and brought back into long-term use as part of the future of the area.

“This fantastic scheme will play a significant role in the regeneration of Tottenham, supporting local residents and creating a centre for employment, social cohesion, training and heritage in Haringey, allowing the foundation to enhance its role in building the future prospects of our community.”

The building dates back to the early 18th Century and its forecourt walls and railings have stood since the late 17th Century.

The Grade II* listed building also played a role in the launch of the pirate radio movement in the 1960s.
