A group of sporty schoolchildren experienced the Olympic legacy with free coaching sessions at a London 2012 venue.

Pupils from Muswell Hill Primary School in Dukes Mews, Muswell Hill, enjoyed free hockey and tennis coaching sessions at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre at its annual Schools Festival earlier this week.

More than 50 primary schools representing every London borough, as well as Hertfordshire and Essex were invited to the world class sports venue at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The event was hosted by Lee Valley Regional Park Authority in partnership with the venue operators Lee Valley Leisure Trust.

Lee Valley Leisure Trust chairman Del Goddard said: “Hundreds of young people have had the chance to try hockey and tennis for free over the last two days.

“For the majority of them it will have been the first time that they have played these sports and we hope that they will be inspired by their experience at this fantastic venue.”
