Singing, dancing and cooking classes will be on offer this weekend as Haringey celebrates turning 50.
This weekend, households across the borough are being invited to come together at Bruce Castle Park, in Lordship Lane, Tottenham, to celebrate the golden anniversary of Haringey council.
Haringey@50 in the park will be hosted from midday to 6pm this Saturday, August 1, featuring a packed programme of food, fun, music and entertainment.
With a talent show and musical performances on the main stage throughout the day, families can enjoy and afternoon of face painting, stilt walkers, African drumming and performances from a steel band.
A fun fair will also be on offer throughout the day, along with food stalls and a cooking workshop.
A full programme for the big event is available online here: http://www.haringey.gov.uk/sites/haringeygovuk/files/haringey_in_the_park_programme_web.pdf
The borough was founded in 1965 after former municipal boroughs of Hornsey, Tottenham and Wood Green were amalgamated to form part of the Greater London Council.
