Talented Harringay student makes it to Oxford

A teenager is making her way to Oxford University after excelling in her A Levels.

Heather Cant, of Haringey, got A*A*A in English Language and Literature, Creative Writing, and Spanish which means she will be heading to St Anne’s College, Oxford to read English and Spanish.

Overjoyed by her achievements, she said: I am so happy to have received my results and to be progressing to one of the top universities in the world. I have really enjoyed studying languages at the College, and the careers service and Oxbridge Prospects have provided me with so much support to achieve my goal.”

“The highlight of my time at College has been studying creative writing, and being able to develop my writing. I did a summer work placement at the Florence Nightingale Museum in 2014, where I developed writing skills, and I took part in an Oxbridge Summer School, which helped me with my Oxbridge application.”

Peter Murray, Director of City and Islington’s Sixth Form College, said: “We are delighted that Heather has made it to Oxford and that her hard work has paid off. We wish her the very best for the future.”
