A residential home for older people has been given a five-star rating for its meals.

The Broadwater Lodge Residential Home in Higham Road, Tottenham has been given the top rating as part of the London-wide "Scores on the Door" initiative.

The initiative is based on the rates of hygiene and food preparation supported by the Food Standards Agency.

Cllr Bob Harris, cabinet member for adult social care, said: "The staff at Broadwater Lodge do an excellent job, providing healthy and nutritious meals for the residents."

The team of chefs, Esther Baxter, Cheryl Pereira and Lilieth Cardoza cook for 45 residents every day.
