A Wood Green schoolboy will visit Number 10 today to receive a special pat on the back for improving his reading.
Immanuel Yussuf, 7, from Noel Park Primary School, in Gladstone Avenue, will meet Prime Minister Gordon Brown to be congratulated personally for improving his literacy skills.
Immanuel is one of 18 children from schools across the country who will attend the reception in Downing Street after taking part in the Every Child A Reader and Every Child Counts programme.
It was organised by the Every Child a Chance Trust, which works with young people with learning difficulties, set up last year to ensure they do not fall behind.
Every Child a Reader places specialist literacy teachers in schools to provide intensive one-to-one support to the children with problems struggling with language.
Every Child Counts is a similar programme to help children aged seven with basic numeracy skills.
