'Fantastic' community gym opens in Wood Green

A GYM for the community will open this Sunday at White Hart Lane Community Sports Centre.

The Active Strength gym was developed following public consultation with local people as well as current users.

Haringey Council's cabinet member for Leisure Councillor Dhiren Basu said: "With excellent prices as well it’s an excellent facility for current and future athletes."

The facility in White Hart Lane, Wood Green, is equipped with specialist weight training equipment such as TechnoGym’s new Pure Strength™ range of resistance machines.

The machines promise to replicate the feeling of free weights while optimising routines.

The gym also includes a range of cardio equipment with built-in TV screens with mp3 player connections so users can listen to music as they stretch their limbs.

The gym will host weight-lifting platforms for amateur, semi and professional training, led by experienced trainers with experience in coaching past and future Olympic athletes.

And anyone who signs up on Sunday will receive a free goodie bag.
