TWO of the three men found guilty of gang-raping a 16-year-old schoolgirl at an abandoned property in Tottenham have had their jail sentences increased by the Court of Appeal.
Three judges at the London court ruled the terms being served by Rogel McMorris, 18, and Jason Brew, 19, were "unduly lenient".
Ringleader McMorris, of Antill Road, in Tottenham, had his sentence increased from nine years to 14 years, while Brew had his six-year sentence raised to nine years.
The victim, who had a mental age of just eight, was raped by several men before McMorris poured caustic soda over her naked body.
The ferocity of the attack put her in a coma and left her entire body covered in burns and has had to undergo extensive skin grafts.
Lord Chief Justice Lord Judge, sitting with Mr Justice Simon and Mr Justice Blair, decided not to increase the sentence imposed on the third defendant Hector Muaimba, 21, of Waltham Forest, east London.
He was found guilty of one charge of rape at Wood Green Crown Court, in Lordship Lane, last year.
Muaimba was sentenced to six years for the attack and is serving an additional two years for a separate conviction for robbery.
