TOTTENHAM Hotspur's reserve goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini is undergoing surgery today following a bike accident.
Carlo Cudicini fractured both his and injured his pelvis when his motorbike collided with a car in Walthamstow yesterday morning.
The 36-year-old Italian, who signed for Spurs in January from Cheslea, was taken to hospital after the crash with police describing his injuries as "possibly life changing".
The club's head of medical services, Wayne Diesel, said today Cudicini has been transferred to a private hospital under the care of specialists.
Mr Diesel said after the surgery they will have a better idea how long he will be out for.
Club manager Harry Redknapp sent his best wishes to the veteran stopper, saying: "We are all sorry to hear about what has happened to Carlo.
"We are just relieved that the injuries that he sustained in the accident weren't more serious.
"Everyone at the club sends their best wishes and we hope that he recovers soon."
Some reports have suggested Cudicini's career at Spurs may now be in the balance because he may have breached his contract by riding a high-powered motorbike.
