SHOWCASE cinema in Wood Green will close this week for refurbishment and re-open as one of the Vue franchise.
The new cinema will open on December 17 with six-screens and capacity for 1,779 cinema-goers.
Changes will include a complete overhaul and redecoration as well as the installation of new digital screens and 3D technology and coincides with the release of direcor James Cameron's highly-anticipated 3D epic Avatar.
And those who want some extra luxury with their popcorn will be able to book limited VIP seats.
Tim Richards, Vue Entertainment's CEO said: "We're delighted to be bringing the Vue cinema experience to Wood Green.
"There is a fantastic appetite for film these days and by creating a spectacular cinema experience based on comfort, style and the latest cinema technology, we expect to have a massive appeal across all ages and interests. We look forward to welcoming and serving the local community of Wood Green for many years to come."
The cinema is also offering money-saving deals such as the 95p weekend morning matinees for adults accompanied by children and subsidised tickets for teenagers on "Cheap Day Tuesdays".
