Russian businessman wins Litvinenko poison libel case

A RUSSIAN businessman has won a libel case over allegations he was behind the poisoning of spy Alexander Litvinenko who lived in Muswell Hill.

Boris Berezovsky, 63, of Surrey, was awarded £150,000 at the High Court over the claims made by Russian TV channel RTR Planeta.

Mr Litvinenko, of Osier Crescent, a fierce critic of ex-Russian President Vladimir Putin, was poisoned with polonium in 2006.

Mr Berezovsky, of Surrey, said he was "satisfied" with the judgement outside the courts in central London.
