A GROUP of people escaped a flat fire in Wood Green in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters were called to the blaze at a two storey block of flats, in Pellatt Grove, at about 1am.
The London Fire Brigade said at least four people left the building before crews arrived on the scene, which was less than half a mile from Wood Green Tube station.
Firefighters spent almost half an hour tacking the blaze. The brigade said part of the first floor was damaged by the flames.
Crews from Hornsey and Tottenham stations attended the incident.
A fire brigade statement said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
