INFORMATION for people who have been affected by strokes will be brought to Haringey residents through drop-in sessions at a Wood Green library.
The sessions will be held on the first Wednesday of every month in the business suite at the library between 11am and 2pm.
Blood pressure checks will also be available as high blood pressure is one of the main risk factors for stroke.
A Facebook site has also been set up so that sufferers, their families, carers and other interested parties can keep in touch.
The idea for the project came from the stroke information committee which was set up in April. The committee is made up of stroke survivors and carers.
Councillor Dilek Dogus, cabinet member for adult and community services, said: "Strokes have a terrible impact on many people and families in the borough.
"These drop-in sessions will give people more information about the illness – including how strokes can be prevented as well as the help that's available."
