A RAPIST who attacked a woman in her Edmonton home and threatened to kill her has had his jail term almost doubled.
Michael Chukwudi Anigbugu, 34, was jailed for eight years in October last year after twice raping th 37-year-old woman during a burglary the year before.
He was arrested when a single strand of his hair was found on the victim's dressing gown and he was charged in March 2010.
But three judges at the Court of Appeal on Thursday ruled the home should be a “safe haven”, and increased the jail terms which had been handed out to three rapists, including Anigbugu.
The former Tottenham resident will now serve a 15 year jail term for his crime after Lord Chief Justice Lord Judge, sitting with Mr Justice Henriques and Mr Justice Davis, ruled the original sentence had been “unduly lenient”.
