High achieving students have been recognised with prestigious Jack Petchey Foundation awards.

The event, on Wednesday, honoured eight students in the borough who had been nominated by their peers for a series of achievements.

Jour Buffonge, 15, from Alexandra Park school, was celebrated for footballing prowess as well as being a role model to his brothers and other pupils at the school.

Jour, who is on the books of Crystal Palace Football Club, spent his money on a new football kit.
