Jour Buffonge with his Jack Petchey Achievement Award
High achieving students have been recognised with prestigious Jack Petchey Foundation awards.
The event, on Wednesday, honoured eight students in the borough who had been nominated by their peers for a series of achievements.
Each student given a Jack Petchey Achievement Award was presented with a medallion, as well as a framed certificate and a £200 prize.
Jour Buffonge, 15, from Alexandra Park school, was celebrated for footballing prowess as well as being a role model to his brothers and other pupils at the school.
Jour, who is on the books of Crystal Palace Football Club, spent his money on a new football kit.
The awards scheme provides over £23,000 each year to schools and has awarded over £750,000 since funding began in 2004.
