Sister of murdered Andrew Jaipaul makes emotional appeal to killers' parents
11:30am Tuesday 26th June 2012 in News By Hermione Wright
Andrew Jaipaul died on June 26 last year.
The sister of a young man brutally stabbed in Holloway a year ago today is appealing to the parents of his murderers to come forward.
Officers found 21-year-old Andrew Jaipaul in a pool of blood in Andover Road after suffering multiple stab wounds. He was declared dead at the scene.
Although eighteen young men aged between 13 and 24 have been arrested after his death, no one has been charged for his murder.
The victim’s sister, Rachel Kirby, said: “We are appealing to the parents of the people responsible to put right the nightmare their sons have caused.
"Let them know they have done wrong and caused someone to lose their life. Let them be responsible for their actions.”
She added: “It has been one year since we lost our brother Andrew. It has been one of the hardest things we have had to try and deal with.
“He was taken from us by a gang of young men in a brutal attack which led to Andrew dying in a way that torments us daily.”
In her emotional plea, she asks for anyone with information about the “horrific” event to come forward.
She said: “As one parent to another parent, we have to correct them even if it means they have to deal with the consequences of their actions. There are worse things that could happen.
"Put an end to this now and teach them right from wrong.”
The group of youths were arrested between July 1 and July 26 last year. They are due to return to a north London police station in mid July.
