A horticultural association is celebrating its 100th year in the borough today.

Members of the Muswell Hill and District Horticultural Society will toast the landmark birthday with a party in Regis Close in Muswell Hill.

The Mayor of Haringey Councillor David Browne and MP for Hornsey and Wood Green Lynne Featherstone will attend the event to show their support to the long-running association.

Earl Hyde, who is a member of the association, has baked a large fruit cake for today’s party, which is decorated with a picture of the original members of the association.

The event runs from 3pm to 5pm and members will enjoy music played by a flutist, a guitarist and a harpist.
