Disabled charity hosts sporting day
5:22pm Friday 13th July 2012 in News By Bruce Thain
Youngsters from a disabled charity took part in a day of sporting events today to mark the coming Paralympic Games.
Action for Kids, which helps young people with physical disabilities increase their mobility, hosted its community games at the Tottenham Green Leisure Centre, in Philip Lane.
Young people who are part of the charity took part in games and sports with carers and volunteers in a number of events including cricket, hockey, football and javelin.
Action for kids recently received a £10,000 grant from sport development charity Sported, which will go towards a new health and fitness project to help local disabled young people access sports and other activities.
