Wood Green Library to host free event to mark Olympic torch relay

Belly dancing, music performances and film screenings are just some of the events on offer in Wood Green tomorrow to celebrate the coming of the Olympic torch.

The Cultural Connections event will be taking place at the Wood Green Library, in High Road, from 12pm to 7pm and has free entry for everyone.

At 12pm the day’s events will start with a South Asian dance Workshop for beginners where people will be taught by Subodh Rathod in the Kathak style of dance.

Later in the day at 2pm people will have the chance to try their hand at Hayaam belly dancing in the Gallery of the first floor of the library.

At 4.45pm there will be performance from rapper EvOn in the lobby and finally from 6pm there will be screenings of four short films from the Gaywise Festival 2011 in the gallery of the library.
