Charity launches new donation collection scheme in Haringey
11:14am Tuesday 24th July 2012 in News By Bruce Thain
People will be able to have their unwanted clothes collected for free as a charity launches a new initiative to make donating easier.
The charity Textile Recycling for Aid and International Development (Traid) has launched the new scheme offering to collect people’s unwanted clothes from homes in Haringey for free.
Collections are timed for Wednesday evenings and the charity hopes it will give busy families the chance make a donation conveniently by directly handing them over to the charity’s driver.
Recycling manager Mike Webster said: ““The more unwanted clothes Haringey donates, the more funds we can raise to fight poverty worldwide while shrinking textile waste and carbon emissions across the borough. We’d love the clothes you don’t.”
Those interested in booking a collection from their home can book online at www.traid.org.uk/collections or by calling at 020 8733 2580.
