Having support from Eurythmics star is ‘just wonderful' says deputy head
A teacher from a school looking for chart success says having support from Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics is “wonderful”.
Gladesmore Community School recently announced the music producer created a radio mix of their single called Everybody Dreams, which aims to show the positive side of Tottenham.
The school choir will be performing their song with Dave Stewart later this evening at a charity concert at the Hospital Club, in Endell Street, central London, which will also feature performances from KT Tunstall and MOBY.
Juliet Coley, deputy headteacher said: “It’s just wonderful to have someone like Dave Stewart onboard with us.
“When we made the record we were all really proud of it and now with some of Dave’s magic it sounds fantastic.
“It has taken the whole project to a different level and now we are just looking to move forward and get the song played on the radio.”
Member of the choir Vivian Reis, 15, said: “I had to pick myself up off the floor when I heard what he had done to our song. Mr Stewart is a Musical Genius. I know his musical magic is going to elevate our track to the top of the charts.”
Apart from being a musician in bands like the Eurythmics and SuperHeavy Mr Stewart has also produced the work of some of the biggest names in music including Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney.
Music teacher Ty Lowe said: “This is just amazing. I have followed Dave since I was a kid and I am a true Eurythmics, Shakespears Sister and SuperHeavy fan, so this news is not just exciting for the kids but is a dream come true for me.”
Headteacher Tony Hartney said: “Stewart’s involvement in the project is a great boost for our campaign Everybody Dreams. He knows Tottenham and truly understands what the children are trying to do with this song.
“The whole school community are humbled by his generosity and embrace his love and support.”
Members of the choir will also be performing at the Haringey Olympic Flame Ceremony at Alexander Palace on Wednesday.
The single will be released on iTunes on August 19.
