Plan for Tottenham launched by Haringey Council

Plans for the future of Tottenham were launched by the council today just before the first anniversary of last year’s riots.

Haringey Council launched its ‘Plan for Tottenham’ on the site of the former Carpet Right Building, in High road, which was destroyed in last year’s unrest.

The plan sets out the council’s vision for the area up to 2025 and includes the creation of up to 5,000 jobs and the building of up to 10,000 new homes.

Also included are details of current developments in the area such as the Northumberland Park project, part of Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium plans, and the regeneration of Seven Sisters.

The council hopes the plans will encourage further private investment into the area to create economic growth and create jobs for local people.
