Volunteers picked up their brushes to paint the railings around a school in Finsbury Park today.

The 25-strong team from clothing retailer GAP, painted the rails of Stroud Green Primary School, in Woodstock Road in a new coat of green paint.

Dexter Thompson, of the Friends of Stroud Green Primary School said: "It's been ten years since our school railings were painted and we are really grateful for the enthusiasm and hard work of the Gap team to restore our smart image.”

Jill Ford who organised the painting said: “At first we were a bit concerned because there are a lot of railings at the school and we weren’t sure if we would get it all done.

“But thankfully we got it finished and everyone really enjoyed themselves and it was great to help the community.”
