Campaigners seeking to challenge a government decision to turn a primary school into an academy will find out tomorrow morning if they can seek a judicial review.

The Save Downhills School campaign group were in the High Court today and put forward their case for a judicial review of Education Secretary Michael Gove’s decision to force the school to become an academy.

The judge will announce  his decision whether the group can seek a judicial review tomorrow morning.

Parents against the new academy status met outside the Royal Courts of Justice in the morning to show their support for the campaign.

Earlier this year Mr Gove ordered that the school must become an academy led by the Harris Federation in September, despite a six-month campaign by parents and staff against the plan.
