Two pupils from a school in Tottenham will be off to university next term following remarkable results in their exams.

Ramiz Amad, 15, and Mushed Miah, 16, will both be going to Kings College University after both getting three distinctions for their BTEC Diploma in Information Technology.

The qualification is equivalent to three A grades at A-Level which they needed in order to move into higher education.

Mr Amad said: “It hasn’t been easy and I’ve put in a lot of hard work to get these results. It goes to show if you put the effort in you can get the results you want.

“I’m so glad I’ve got the grades and I’m really excited about going to university.”

The Gladesmore Community School pupil will be studying computer science and business studies at university and is looking to get work experience in computer programming.

Mr Miah, who also goes Gladesmore, said: “To be honest I’m pretty shocked to get these results. I knew I would do well because I put in so much work, but I just can’t believe it when I look at them.

“The school has been so important to me getting the results. Thanks to their help I was able to get what I really wanted.”

Mr Miah will be studying computer science, and says he hopes to peruse a career in computer programming.

Their teacher Ariadne Lish, head of ICT said: “I am exceptionally proud of both of them. They have been so focused and have worked so hard for this.

“All the pupils at the school are so driven to succeed and we are so proud of all of them.”
