Fitness fanatics took on a marathon exercise session in aid of the North London Hospice raising more than £3,000.

More than 100 people, lead by seven instructors from Muswell Hill fitness group, JCW Fitness, took part in the event on Sunday at Fortismere School, Muswell Hill.

Fundraisers took part in various classes including Zumba, circuits, Pilates and yoga, raising money for the hospice, which provides care for terminally ill people across Haringey, Barnet and Enfield.

Organiser Jane Wrafter, 42, said: "We are extremely proud of what we achieved on Sunday.

“We want to thank all the local businesses who donated to our raffle and to everyone who attended and helped to make this event such a success.”

"There was such a great atmosphere and everyone was smiling and having such fun. Everyone really rallied together and I hope we have helped made a difference to the hospice."

The fitness session was opened by volunteer Joe Attridge, whose wife Anna died at the hospice February 2006 at the 48.
