School hosts Black History Month market

A primary school hosted an African Village day as part of Black History Month.

Pupils and parents of Tetherdown Primary School in Muswell Hill, enjoyed the event which was a celebration of African and Caribbean culture yesterday.

During the day the school hosted an African cultural and artistic market which sold a range of items including original fashion pieces, arts and crafts, and homemade food.

The day also included an African drumming workshop and face painting for children.

During the evening there was a showcase of talent from around the borough with African themed entertainment including special performances from ‘One Drum’ and FLOetic Lara.

During the build up to the day pupils from the school took part in a number of workshops to learn about African culture.
