A public meeting on the proposed closure of a secondary school has been postponed due to racially motivated letters.

The meeting was due to be about the John Loughborough School as part of the consultation about its possible closure.

It was due to take place at the school in Holcombe Road, Tottenham on Monday, October 22, but Haringey Borough Council has announced the meeting has been postponed.

The council say the school has received some racially motivated letters about the meeting and were concerned there could be disruption.

The governors have made it clear that they do not wish to be associated with this and asked for another venue.

The meeting will now be at the Wednesday 7 November at 7pm in the Gold Room at Tottenham Green Leisure Centre, in Philip Lane.
