There’s a lot at stake on Thursday – this by election will help decide the future of Seven Sisters and whether we continue to get much-needed investment to improve our local area.

I believe it is vital that people who live and work here in Seven Sisters receive all the support and assistance that is available to get through these tough economic times.

I’m proud to be Labour’s candidate. I already have a proven record of working hard for local people: I’ve spent a lot of time in Seven Sisters meeting hundreds of people and listening to their concerns.

Thanks to Labour working in partnership locally and nationally, Seven Sisters has benefited from millions of pounds in investment recently to deliver better homes, schools and streets.

Our £4.6 million flagship children’s centre is helping families in Seven Sisters…£230 million has been invested in Decent Homes across our Borough…and £2 million is about to be spent on greener spaces in Seven Sisters.

Labour’s strong action is starting to claim back the streets of Seven Sisters from the tiny minority who refuse to play by the rules.

The new Alcohol Control Zone which bans drinking on local streets is just one example of Labour’s commitment to listening to the serious concerns of local people like you – and then taking the effective action that’s needed.

But there’s much more we must do. While the Lib Dems are soft on crime, and voted against Labour’s tough measures to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour which are local police say are improving our area, I promise to do everything possible to stop the law-breakers making life a misery for the rest of us.

My contract is to work hard for everyone who lives and works in Seven Sisters. I won’t let Seven Sisters down.
