I am a candidate in the Seven Sisters by-election, which will be held on Thursday, January 15.

I am 43 years old and live in Wargrave Avenue – in the heart of the community and opposite St. Ignatius Church – with my wife Tanya and young children.

Professionally, I run a thriving computer business. When I’m not looking after the kids or working, I enjoy photography and taking shots when walking along the River Lee. I keep fit by cycling.

When I was asked to run as the Conservative candidate in this election, I immediately said ‘yes’. I would consider it an honour to represent my neighbours on Haringey Council.

Seven Sisters isn’t a bad place to live, but it could be so much better!

For donkey’s years, Haringey Labour has taken us all for granted. And the Lib Dems, after 10 years in opposition, have failed to make any difference.

Our council tax is still one of the highest anywhere in the country, yet services are poor. Whether it’s cracked and dirty pavements or the shocking failures of our social services department (remember Baby P), the old Labour-Lib Dem stalemate on the council has run out of the ideas and energy to do anything other than cling to power. They are tired old faces with no fresh ideas.

Even the recent resignation of the council leader and social services cabinet member will make no difference: they have shamefully remained as councillors and simply played ‘musical chairs’ with other members of the Labour group. It really is time for a change—elect me to shake things up!
