On page four of your May 6 edition, you ran a headline entitled ‘Council tight-lipped on revealing fat cat staff’.
Then on page 15, we read that ‘Council staff fear wage cut’.
Putting these two stories together, we get a very worrying image of the political priorities of Mike Rye —squeeze the majority of normal workers to increase the wealth of a few elite.
This is a very mean approach that shames us.
I’m surprised that Enfield’s Conservative majority doesn’t realise how much damage income inequality does to our society.
We criticise central Government for these kinds of disparities and I’m disheartened to find the same thing locally. It’s morally wrong.
