London Skolars beaten by London Broncos

London Skolars started their pre-season warm up with possibly one of the toughest games they will face this year.

The Skolars came up against Super League side London Broncos in the annual Capital Challenge and went down 74-6 at the Honourable Artillery Club grounds.

The Broncos showed their superior fitness as they ran in 13 tries with Michael Channing and Michael Robertson both scoring twice.

It wasn’t until midway through the second half that Skolars scored, Jaroslaw Obuchowski sending Smokie Junor over in the corner. Dylan Skee added the conversion.

With almost two months before the competitive season starts Skolars coach Joe Mbu remains upbeat.

Mbu said: “We have just six training sessions so far, but I am happy with our contact and structure.

“There’s a long way to go and a lot of work to do, but our first game is not for seven weeks. Even in the last minute, we still had had players chasing Broncos and that was very encouraging.”
