Tottenham Hotspur linked with shock swoop for Celtic striker Gary Hooper

Spurs could be set to resolve their striker search with a shock move for Celtic striker Gary Hooper according to reports.

Tottenham have made securing another forward a priority this January after Emmanuel Adebayor departed for the Africa Cup of Nations while Jermain Defoe's early season form has dried up.

Chairman Daniel Levy has grown increasingly resigned to losing out on top target Leandro Damiao and has therefore switched his attentions elsewhere.

Hooper, 24, has been in hot form for Celtic this season scoring 19 goals in 30 games and seven in his last six.

Norwich had a bid of £5m turned down last week but it is thought a bid closer to £10m would twist Celtic's arm.
