Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on Chievo's Italian goalkeeper Marco Silvestri

First published in Sport

Spurs are preparing a summer bid for talented Italian goalkeeper Marco Silvestri, according to reports in Italy.

Hugo Lloris has established himself in the Tottenham first team this season but Andre Villas-Boas is expected to sell Heurelho Gomes permanently in the summer while veteran stopper Brad Friedel is likely to retire or move elsewhere.

Silvestri, who plays Chievo, is currently on loan at Padova in Serie B and the 21-year-old is widely regarded as one of the most promising goalkeepers in Italy.
