Tim Sherwood lamented Spurs’ inability to hold on to their lead for longer but praised West Bromwich Albion after yesterday’s 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane.
The hosts were on target for the win after Christian Eriksen fired them in front with a superb 36th-minute free-kick but the Baggies were level within two minutes through Jonas Olsson.
“The shame is that we scored a goal, a fantastic free-kick from Christian, but before we drew breath they equalised,” the Tottenham boss told the club’s official website.
“It was a poor goal to concede as well. We just wanted to get to half-time and have the chance to re-organise.”
Sherwood added: “West Brom came here to do a job and they did it well.
“We didn’t carve them open enough and didn’t show enough quality in the final third, that was disappointing.”
