Haringey Racers enjoyed training with a difference this week after taking part in a new TV programme.
F2 Kicks Off, will be aired on Channel 4 and Sky Living in April, and the ice hockey club were filmed alongside Billy Wingrove and Jeremy Lynch, as they did what they do best: freestyle football tricks.
The F2 Freestylers are embarking on a mission to take freestyle football tricks across London, demonstrating their ability in all sorts of unusual places, amongst various different London communities and sports teams.
Filming alongside the Haringey Racers at Alexandra Palace will certainly be a highlight and viewers can expect to see tricks incorporating the ice sticks, the Racers changing room, lockers, and of course, the Alexandra Palace ice rink itself. The Haringey Racers are currently on a winning streak after beating Basingstoke 10-4, the Wightlink Tigers 5-0 and the Peterborough Islanders 10-3.
Speaking during this week’s training and TV shoot, David Richards, head coach and forward player, said: “Things are really taking off for the Racers.
“We’re training long, hard hours and playing well because of it. Our support network is fantastic.
“We’re seeing record numbers of fans attend our matches, both at home at Alexandra Palace and at our away games.
“I’m positive that F2 Kicks Off will give us the extra exposure that we deserve.”
