Tim Sherwood will be relieved of his duties as Spurs manager in the summer, according to Sky Sports News.

The 45 year-old has come under increasing pressure in recent weeks as Spurs slip further away from the Champions League places.

Appointed on an 18-month contract in mid-December following the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas, Sherwood has failed to build on a bright start to life as Spurs boss, losing 4-0 at Liverpool last time out.

Arsenal's 3-0 defeat at the hands of Everton on Sunday has handed Spurs some reprieve, but with the Toffees upwordly mobile, Tottenham's chances of finishing fourth look slim.

With just three victories in their last ten games in all competitons, Spurs have been linked with a summer move for Louis Van Gaal, who is currently manager of the Dutch national team.

Van Gaal will be succeeded by countryman Guus Hiddink after the summer's World Cup, and according to former Netherlands international Ruud Gullit, the deal to take Van Gaal to White Hart Lane is 'done'.
