Spurs are rumoured to be keen on offering Tim Sherwood his old role as technical coordinator, if he is relieved of his job as head coach this summer.

The 45 year-old's time in the White Hart Lane hotseat looks to be coming to an end with Spurs expected to appoint a more experienced head coach at the end of the current campaign.

Netherlands boss Louis Van Gaal is the outstanding candidate, with the former Bayern Munich coach standing down from his current role after this summer's World Cup in Brazil.

Sherwood returned to the Lane in 2008 under Harry Redknapp, earning plaudits for his part in the development of a number of young players, as well as the way in which he revolutionised aspects of the club's youth development programme.

The former Spurs midfielder has been keen to give youth a chance since replacing Andre Villas-Boas in mid-December, using 19 year-old Algerian midfielder Nabil Bentaleb ahead of a number of senior professionals.

Upon replacing Villas-Boas as Spurs boss, Sherwood was adamant that he would not take the role on an interim basis and would only accept the job if he was offered it on a full time basis, which he subsequently was, signing an 18-month contract.

Linked with the manager's roles at former club Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion in recent weeks, whether or not the St Albans-born coach would be prepared to return to the backroom staff at Spurs remains unclear.
