Tottenham Hotspur are chasing Ajax centre-back Joel Veltman, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The 22-year-old defender has been a mainstay in Frank de Boer's side as they clinched their fourth successive Eredivisie title.

Born in Velsen, the 6ft defender came through the club's fabled youth structure and made only made his Ajax debut in 2012.

A Netherlands international, Veltman won his first full Dutch cap in a goalless friendly draw with Colombia last November.

Veltman has only made 30 league appearances for Ajax, with 24 of those coming this season.
