Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino is the odds-on favourite to replace Tim Sherwood at Spurs.
Pochettino, 42, guided the Saints to eighth-place in the Premier League this term - his first full season in charge at St Mary's.
The former Espanyol boss has won a number of plaudits for the job he has done on the south coast since succeeding Nigel Adkins in January 2013.
An Argentina international during his playing days, Pochettino has also overseen the development of England internationals Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw this season, with both players included in Roy Hodgon's England squad for the World Cup.
Pochettino has only won 38 per cent of his matches in charge of the Saints, but has been responsible for dragging the club away from the relegation zone and towards the European places.
