London Skolars were unable to build on victory over Oxford Rugby League a fortnight ago as they were thrashed 66-6 by Gateshead Thunder in the Kingstone Press Championship 1.
The North East outfit ran in 13 tries at the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium – with Louis Sherriff grabbing a hat-trick – to equal their best-ever margin of victory on Sunday.
Sherriff’s hat-trick was added to by a brace from Jamie Rooney and tries by Sonny Esslemont, Paul Stamp, Joe Farrell, Jason Payne, Micheal Butterfield, George Clarke, Ricky Hough and Jordan Meads as play-off chasing Gateshead ran riot.
Sam Druce scored the Skolars’ solitary try with Courtney Davies adding a goal.
