Spurs midfielder Paulinho is being targeted by Italian giants Juventus to replace Manchester United-bound Arturo Vidal, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Paulinho, 25, has just completed his World Cup with Brazil, making five starts and a substitute appearance as the Selecao finished fourth.

With Manchester United understood to be in talks to sign Juventus' Chilean midfielder Vidal for £45m, Paulinho is being lined up as the replacement in Turin.

Signed for what was, at the time, a club record £17m from Corinthians last summer, Paulinho was a regular at White Hart Lane last season, making 37 appearances in all competitions.

The Sao Paulo-born midfielder fell out of favour with former boss Tim Sherwood towards the end of the season but forced his way back into the side before the campaign was finished and Sherwood was sacked.

Paulinho had also been linked with a move to Chelsea earlier in the summer.
