Spurs forward Emmanuel Adebayor will miss the club's pre-season tour of America after contracting malaria.
The 30-year-old forward was taken to hospital on Saturday night after claiming to feel unwell and a quick diagnosis meant the disease was caught in the early stages.
It is expected the Togo international will be released from hospital today (Monday) and will then rest for seven days before resuming pre-season training.
As a precautionary measure, the former Manchester City and Real Madrid forward will not travel to America for the club's pre-season tour.
Adebayor will miss games against Seattle Sounders, Toronto FC - employers of former Spurs hitman Jermain Defoe - and Chicago Fire.
