Spurs could bring Seattle Sounders right-back DeAndre Yedlin across the pond to White Hart Lane, according to ESPN.

The 21-year-old impressed for the USA during this summer's World Cup in Brazil and has subsequently been linked with a move from the MLS to Europe.

Yedlin, who has seven international caps, provided the assist for Sounders teammate Clint Dempsey to put America 2-1 up against Portugal at the tournament.

ESPN television analyst Taylor Wellman tweeted: “Hearing Spurs have jumped ahead of everyone else in Yedlin sweepstakes. He’d stay in Seattle for 2014 before joining Tottenham.”

But Yedlin, 21, cooled speculation linking him with the Premier League after the MLS All-Star Game: “Nothing is really finalised yet. I’m waiting, letting my agency handle it.”
