Mauricio Pochettino will streamline Spurs’ bloated squad before the end of the transfer window as he believes it is too big.
The Tottenham head coach, who succeeded Tim Sherwood in May, has inherited a large squad at White Hart Lane and after making three new additions, is keen to reduce the number of first-team players at the club.
Flop Roberto Soldado, 29, looks set to follow Gylfi Sigurdsson, Iago Falque and Jake Livermoore out the door at White Hart Lane with La Liga champions Atletico Madrid looking to sign the Spanish international on loan.
Whilst Ben Davies and Michel Vorm have arrived from Swansea City and Eric Dier from Sporting Lisbon, the Argentine is understood to be keen on moving on a number of the fringe players at White Hart Lane, with the likes of Kyle Naughton, Michael Dawson, Younes Kaboul and Soldado heading the list.
