Lewis Holtby is on his way out of Tottenham Hotspur, with a move to Bundesliga side Hamburg set to be completed this afternoon, according to the Daily Mail.

Premier League side Everton are also believed to be interested in Holtby but a return to the Bundesliga appears to be the 23-year-old's most likely destination.

Hamburg chief executive Dietmar Beiersdorfer last week confirmed the club's interest in the attacking midfielder.

Speaking to German newspaper Hamburger Abdenblatt, Beiersdorfer said: "I would be lying if I said that we have nothing to do with Holtby.

"We need to allow for all possibilities.

"Holtby is a good young and German player, who does not win a lot of minutes at Tottenham."

Holtby, who joined Spurs from Schalke in January 2013, has never been a regular at White Hart Lane and despite being brought back to the club by new head coach Mauricio Pochettino, has made just one substitute appearance in the Premier League this season.
