Erik Lamela and other Tottenham Hotspur first-team players have been called up by their respective countries for the international break.

Lamela has been named in the Argentina squad ahead of their friendly against Germany on Wednesday, September 3 following impressive performances for Spurs against QPR and AEL Limassol.

Christian Eriksen’s Denmark host Turkey in a friendly on Wednesday before opening their qualifying campaign against Armenia on Sunday, September 7.

Spurs keeper and France captain Hugo Lloris will face Spain and Serbia in friendlies as his country automatically qualifies for Euro 2016 through being the host nation.

Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele and Nacer Chadli have all been called up to Belgium’s squad to face Australia in a home friendly.

Emmanuel Adebayor’s Togo will play two qualifying matches for the African Cup of Nations, starting on Friday as they travel to Guinea. They’ll then host Ghana on Wednesday, September 10.

Nabil Bentaleb will be involved in the same competition for Algeria, in qualifiers against Ethiopia on Saturday and Mali next Wednesday, September 10.

Summer signing Ben Davies and fellow defender Vlad Chiriches have been called upon by their respective countries for Euro 2016 qualifiers. Davies’ Wales face Andorra next Tuesday, September 9 and Chiriches’ Romania face Greece on Sunday, September 7.

Andros Townsend and Danny Rose were called up to Roy Hodgson's senior England squad last week, whilst Harry Kane was included in Gareth Southgate's England Under-21 sqauad.
