Spurs missed the opportunity to close the gap to the top four as they drew 0-0 at home to Crystal Palace.

The home side failed to create many opportunities during the game with Roberto Soldado spurning the best chance in the second half.

It’s hard to tell which Spurs might show up to matches at White Hart Lane, will it be the one that limped to defeats against Stoke, West Brom and Newcastle or the one that brushed aside Everton.

The performance was close to the former with Pochettino's side looking lacklustre going forward.

The home side started with a delightful ball from Ryan Mason finding Christian Eriksen in the corner who produces a fine bit of skill to skip past Martin Kelly but could only fire his shot into the side netting.

Despite the early chance Palace dominated the majority of the first half causing all sorts of problems from corners; Mason almost heading into his own net.

Yannick Bolasie caused all sorts of the problems down both wings all afternoon; producing a sensational flick to get past Eriksen and square the ball back to Joe Ledley who should have scored.

Soldado should have had Spurs in front after 24 minutes when a drilled cross from Ben Davies found the Spaniard free in the penalty area but he lifted his shot over the bar.

Yet the visitors were the ones on top and it was only a fabulous clawing save from Hugo Lloris that stopped defender Scott Dann heading the ball home.

Wilfred Zaha also went close for the South Londoners but neither side could be separated as they went into half time.

It took until the 63rd minute before a golden opportunity fell to Soldado after being played in by Eriksen where the striker blazed his shot wide.

Chances were few and far between but again it was Palace causing problems from corners.

Substitute Jason Puncheon rifled his shot onto the underside of the bar after Spurs failed to clear the corner.

The visiting side sensed an opportunity to win the game but they found a determined Lloris in the Spurs net as he brilliantly denied Bolasie from inside the penalty area.

In the end neither side could find a way through and the match finished goalless with the home fans booing the sound of the full time whistle once more.
